The flipper/floater has one of the biggest responsibilities in the office. They are tasked to make sure the clinical staff stays on schedule by staying in communication with staff members as well as being knowledgeable on how to read the Dentrix schedule. The flipper/floater will assist as needed to help the dentist or staff member complete minor procedures.
Other duties responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Taking and processing X-rays
- Sterilizing instruments
- Cleaning patient rooms/chairs
- Keeping staff and doctors on time by monitoring the schedule
- Assisting when needed to help keep patients calm
A flipper floater could be trained to become a dental assistant pending review and evaluation.
